The Silver Chamber

The Svaneholm Castle museum collections contain several silver objects. The greatest part of those objects are buckles and other details from the old peasant feast costumes, most of them from the surrounding countryside.
The far south of Sweden has always had a rich peasant culture and the citizens here could spend time and money on aesthetic handicraft.
Some of the silver objects here have belonged to countess Eva Ehrensvärd, the last chatelaine at Svaneholm.
