The Swedish castle Svaneholm is located in Skurup in Skåne, in the far south of Sweden, 26 miles east of Malmö on road E65. The castle, built in the 16th century, is a high-class attraction containing a museum with excellent collections and exhibitions.
 
Baron Rutger Macklean (1742 - 1816), the man who initiated "enskiftet" (an agricultural reform) in Sweden lived here 1782 - 1816.

The castle is open:                                               April: Wednesday-Sunday 10-17                        May-June 14th: Tuesday-Sunday 10-17            June 15 th-August:  every day 10-17    September: Wednesday-Sunday 10-17      October: Saturday and Sunday 10-17 .            Other times on request.
