It was a world far from the fashionable salons of Svaneholm. In the peasant
homes the furnishing was not the same, but it was beautiful in an other
way.
This furniture, tools and cloths brings us an important knowledge about
the life in the countryside in earlier days.
The most significant difference between now and then, was that the development
of technique and society in older days was slow. The people had run their
farms for many generations, using the same methods and tools.

still were until about 100 years ago.
